Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?
The easiest method is to submit a resume through our quick apply online application, which should take less than two minutes to fill out.
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
This is an option, but not typically the process. We foster building relationships, learning about, and understanding each other with in-person conversations.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
Primarily getting to know each other to understand personality, attitude, and character. Interviews are more of an informal conversation that focuses on understanding the goals, objectives, and expectations of everyone involved. An opportunity to meet with any of the other employees separately to discover what it is like from the employees' perspective.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
Yes, we promote a drug-free work environment for safety, and we want to know how best to communicate with all the people in our operation.
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
Yes. It is typically a simple written survey to understand where the strengths are and where growth could occur.
After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?
Typically the applicant and the shop will know if it is a good fit by the end of the interview process and conversations. A formal offer letter typically is sent within a day or two. Management and co-workers want to ensure it is a good fit for everyone, and the company can meet the needs of the applicant.
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?
It depends on the current situation of the candidate and the company. Sometimes it happens successfully within a few days, sometimes it has taken a few months for the candidate to become comfortable and confident. Our goal is to ensure a good fit for the candidate (technician) and the team, as well as the company.
Is there anything else you’d like to mention about your hiring process?
It is very flexible and something we work hard at, not rushing into a hire. The candidate, team, and management need to be comfortable that it will be a good fit and all truly understand each others' expectations.
